Get well soon

Everyone’s hurting today, it seems.

Doc Rivers is in Boston for surgery to remove a non-cancerous growth in his throat, ESPN and the Herald are reporting. He reportedly won’t be able to speak for two weeks after the procedure.

Meanwhile, reports are mixed on Patrice Bergeron’s availability for tonight’s Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals. The Herald reported coach Claude Julien was mum on the matter after practice. ESPN, meanwhile, cited an unnamed source saying Bergeron is “doing great,” but will miss the game.

Boston.com’s Bruins Blog also has Bergeron out tonight.

A source close to Patrice Bergeron told the Globe’s Kevin Dupont that the center will not play tonight. Bergeron has skated the last three days. He participated in practice yesterday. Bergeron is expected to skate this morning. However, Bergeron has yet to take hard contact, which indicates he has not been cleared for game action. Bergeron could return later in the series.
