Giants miss late field goal, drop game to Eagles

The Giants just can’t get over the hump against the Eagles.

The Giants have now lost eight of their last nine games against Philadelphia, including the playoffs.

A 54-yard field goal came up just short for Lawrence Tynes with 10 seconds left, as the Eagles won, 19-17.

After the Eagles settled for two straight field goals — one of a bad interception by Eli Manning in the end zone on the first play of the fourth quarter — the Giants marched 83 yards on five plays to go ahead 17-16 with 6:49 left.

But the Eagles answered with a 75-yard drive of their own and the eventual game-winning kick by Alex Henery.

The game started very slowly for both sides. The Eagles punted on their first four possessions, while the Giants punted on their first five.

But after those first four drives, the Eagles scored on each of their remaining possessions. They had four drives of over 70 yards and one more of 50 yards.
