The Rays introduced small-money free agents Johnny?Damon and Manny Ramirez to the Tampa media yesterday, officially reuniting two of the “Idiots” from Boston’s glory days.
Both signed one-year contracts: Damon for a reported $5.25 million plus incentives, Ramirez for $2 million.
The former rubber-armed Sox center fielder will play left — Crawford’s old position. Ramirez will be the Rays’ designated hitter.
