After dominating tennis’ Grand Slams for the better part of a decade, is this the year Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer finally fall off a bit?
After all, Nadal has shown flashes of streakiness over his career, and a few chinks in Federer’s armor were exposed last year.
But don’t count on a new regime emerging anytime soon. Even Novak Djokovic — the world No. 3 behind the high-flying pair — admits as much.
“I think [Robin] Soderling is playing great, [Andy] Murray, [Nikolay] Davydenko,” Djokovic said.
“All these guys have improved so much. And then you have Federer and Nadal, who keep on playing better and better.”
Federer opens Australian Open play today.
