It’s getting ugly (again): Red Sox pounded by Rangers

Shockingly enough, the Red Sox actually held a lead in Monday night’s game in Arlington.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia’s 435-foot blast to right center gave Boston a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but it would be the only run for the struggling Sox on the night as they fell to Texas, 9-1, and dropped their fourth straight game in the process.

Felix Doubront (10-5), who has been the Red Sox best starter for much of the season, looked quite mortal as he allowed six earned runs on eight hits in five innings.

Josh Hamilton and Mike Napoli each had two RBIs for the hard-hitting Rangers.
