According to the Jets, the solution to quarterback Mark Sanchez’s passing woes is not Terrell Owens, who tweeted Monday night he wanted New York to reach out to him.
Arguably one of the best wide receivers of his generation, the 38-year old is second on the all-time receiving list with 15,934 yards but he’s currently without a team.
During the game Owens tweeted, “Hey JETS!!! I’m available! I’m ready, willing & able! Call my agent @jordanwoy & let’s make it happen.”

Owens has a reputation as a locker room cancer, a major reason why he has been with seven teams since entering the league in 1996.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan endorsed the newly signed Jason Hill on Tuesday, even if he did let a Tim Tebow pass slip through his fingers.
“You never say never to anything. We’ll look at all options like we always do, but right now, we picked up Jason Hill. I know he had the big drop, obviously, on Tebow’s pass which was tremendous, but you have to catch that ball,” Ryan said. “He actually did some decent things on tape besides that; even had a couple of good blocks and things. Here’s a young guy that has a lot of speed [and] hopefully he can do some things.”
The Jets offense could use a boost as Sanchez’s completion percentage was below 50 percent for the fourth straight game. Without Santonio Holmes, out for the year with a foot injury, and missing tight end Dustin Keller and wide receiver Stephen Hill, the Jets have a depleted list of possible targets for Sancez.
One addition to that group won’t be wide receiver Plaxico Burress, who played with the Jets last year and like Owens is currently a free agent.
“I said no before on Plaxico. It was [because of that] decision [that] we went with Jason Hill. But you’re going to look at everything. We don’t know what the severity of injuries are or anything else right now,” Ryan said. “I can say [a] definitive no for T.O. and anybody else out there that’s not on our team. But again, you're [going to] look at your situation.”
