Jon Lester: Lefty lands on DL

The Red Sox ace will miss at least one start.

As expected, Red Sox ace Jon Lester landed on the 15-day DL today with a strained latissimus muscle in his left shoulder.

The lefty suffered the injury last night, when he threw four scoreless innings against Toronto before staying in the dugout for the fifth.

The strain, though, is a relative best-case scenario. ESPNBoston.com is reporting Lester will miss 2-4 weeks, but that includes the All-Star break.

"This is kind of a no-brainer," Terry Francona told reporters. "I've already talked to him today and he didn't put up much
of a fight, so I think it's the right thing to do."

Scott Atchison will take Lester's place on the 25-man roster.
