Red Sox hurler Jon Lester spoke out about "goo-gate" or "Vaseline-gate" or "booger-gate" or whatever you want to call the situation regarding the substance on the inside of his glove Thursday afternoon, saying, "It was just rosin. It's all I ever used and all I will use."
Lester did see the curious photo of his glove and said, "I don't know what that is. It looks like a giant booger."

As you can see by the photo above, it's one big booger. In other shots, the substance on the inside of the glove appeared to be nuclear green.
Rosin, is of course, legal in baseball as there are rosin bags on the back of each Major League mound. Most rosin is white, but combined with dirt and sweat (Sox manager John Farrell said Thursday that Lester 'sweats like a pig on the mound'), it's certainly possible the above "goo" could appear.
