Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will discuss the vacant Cleveland Browns head coaching job with Browns officials this weekend in New England, according to ESPN.
The Browns asked the Patriots for permission to speak with McDaniels earlier this week.
McDaniels would not be allowed to formally take the job until the Patriots are eliminated from the postseason. On Jan. 12, 2009, McDaniels (who just finished up a three-year stint as Pats OC) was announced as head coach of the Denver Broncos but the Patriots did not make the postseason in the 2008 season despite posting an 11-5 record.
The Patriots begin postseason play on Saturday, Jan. 11.
