Nick Kaczur won’t be back on the field this season.

The Patriots placed the one-time starting offensive lineman on season-ending injured reserve yesterday as part of the roster move to bring in Deion Branch.

Kaczur has been down with a back injury since training camp.

He’s played in 68 regular-season games (62 starts) since the Patriots drafted him 100th overall in 2005. Kaczur made his first NFL start at left tackle in ’05, but truly made a name for himself on the right side of the line.

He would have played left guard this year. Instead, that’s Dan Connolly’s spot for good.
