Kemba Walker Knicks Jazz NBA Trade Rumors: Pistons Bucks too?

Kemba Walker Knicks Jazz NBA Trade Rumors Pistons

With Kemba Walker set to hit free agency next summer, and with the Hornets once again expected to be on the outside looking in for a playoff spot, expect Charlotte to explore trade possibilities ahead of next February’s trade deadline. The following is the latest info on Kemba Walker Knicks Jazz NBA Trade Rumors with the Pistons and Bucks looking as well.

Mitch Kupchak cannot let Walker walk out the door without getting anything in return, so if the Hornets get off to a mediocre start to the 2018-19 season the trade rumors are going to heat up. Kupchak hasn’t exactly been enamored with the prospect of building a championship team around Walker, but both parties are saying all the right things for now. Last week Walker told the Hartford Courant that he is committed to the Hornets and that he doesn’t have his eye on the Knicks. Having grown up in the Bronx and having played many big college games at Madison Square Garden while at UConn Walker has consistently been mentioned in Knicks trade rumors.

“I’ve been hearing it for years,” Walker told the Hartford Courant. “Every time I come home, ‘When are you going to come home and play for the Knicks? I know it’s a special place. I was a Knicks fan growing up, always rooted for the home team. But I just can’t see myself in a Knicks jersey. Only because I’ve only been in one jersey.

“I just want to do something special in Charlotte,” Walker continued. “I’ve been there eight years now and we haven’t really been consistent as far as wining. I just want to try to establish that culture at some point. That’s what I want to do. I just want to make it a winning organization.”

The issue that Kupchak will run into, however, is getting a fair return for Walker. The Knicks, for instance, won’t overpay in February for Walker when they can just wait it out four more months and try to flat-out sign him in free agency.

Walker could wind up being a better option for the Knicks than Kyrie Irving, who seems to now be committed to staying in Boston based on recent reports. Below is more Kemba Walker Knicks Jazz NBA Trade Rumors.

Other teams to keep a close eye on when it comes to a potential Kemba Walker deal are the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks and Utah Jazz. All three are teams that believe they could vault up a few spots in their respective playoff field if they could upgrade at the point guard position.

The Jazz are generally happy with Ricky Rubio at the point but there is a feeling in Utah that general manager Dennis Lindsey has to “go for it” at some point. It’s been a while since the Jazz made any sort of splash in the trade market or in free agency and nabbing Walker for relatively cheap would put the Jazz right there with the LeBron Lakers in terms of Western Conference second tier teams.

A Donovan Mitchell – Kemba Walker backcourt might even be able to outscore the dynamite backcourts of Houston and Golden State. It would certainly give the Jazz a different look in the ultra-competitive West.
