According to Shaun Powell of SportsOnEarth.com, Celtics forward Kevin Garnett would only waive his no-trade clause unless Paul Pierce is dealt as well.
Powell also said that Garnett would only want to go to Los Angeles (presumably to the Clippers), because he has a house in Malibu.
Garnett’s named was mentioned in a trade rumor reported by Sporting News over the weekend in which Caron Butler and Eric Bledsoe would be coming to Boston. The Celtics could be interested in such a deal due to the fact that Butler’s contract ($8 million per/yr) expires after next season and Bledsoe is still considered an up-and-coming talent.
Pierce was nearly traded to the New Jersey Nets at last year’s deadline, according to Yahoo!.
