King James to sit out slam dunk contest

Last week, LeBron James said he was “50/50” on whether he’d compete in the slam dunk contest at next month’s NBA All-Star Game. When rosters were released yesterday, the King’s name was nowhere to be found.

Since James had expressed interest to participate, the final spot in the contest had been left open.

Now, it will be determined by a dunk-off between Eric Gordon and DeMar DeRozan at halftime of the Rookie Game. The other three players are: Gerald Wallace, Shannon Brown and Nate Robinson, who is attempting to become the first three-time winner.
