Knicks’ Davis might be done for career with injury

It didn’t take a stint in medical school to realize Baron Davis’s Game 4 knee injury would keep him out for the rest of the season. Turns out, it might be forever.

Davis not only had a partial tear of his patella tendon in his right knee, but also tore his ACL?and MCL. Recovery will take approximately 12 months, which would mean he would miss all of next season.

Davis is 33 now and would be 34 by the time he was able to return. The market for a 34-year-old point guard coming off major knee surgery likely won’t be high.

“I dropped down to one knee and said a prayer,” power forward Amar’e Stoudemire said of the Davis injury after Game 4. “I almost shed a tear to be honest.”
