It wasn’t as ugly as Game 1, but the result for the Knicks was still the same. And now, their season lingers on life support.
The Heat defeated the Knicks, 104-94, last night in Game 2 in Miami.
The story for the Heat was a balanced attack from four of five starters. LeBron James had 19?points and Dwyane added 25 more, but Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers were impressive as well.
The task of keeping the Knicks in the game fell almost solely on the shoulders of Carmelo Anthony. He finished with 30 points on 12-of-26 shooting from the field. He didn’t clog the offense though. Feeding Anthony was clearly the strategy from the get-go. He scored four points in the first 2:07 and 13 points total in the first quarter.
Maybe the only good news for the Knicks was the return of a healthy Tyson Chandler. Chandler looked awful in Game 1 as he tried to play with the flu. He played 27 minutes and had 13 points and six offensive rebounds in the loss.
It was the 12th consecutive playoff loss for the Knicks — tying the record set by Memphis from 2004 to 2006. They haven’t won in the playoffs since 2001.
Game 3 comes Thursday at Madison Square Garden.
