Massachusetts resident Harrison takes gold in judo

Aly Raisman isn't the only one with Massachusetts ties grabbing gold this week.

Kayla Harrison earned the first gold medal in U.S. Olympic judo history Thursday with a thrilling victory over Britain's Gemma Gibson.

Harrison, an Ohio native, has strong Massachusetts ties as she lives in Marblehead and trains in Wakefield under Methuen's Jimmy Pedro (who was once a judo Olympian himself).

Pedro won two Olympic bronze medals while active.
