MLB video highlights: Red Sox walk off with win over Yankees

Red Sox pick up first walk off win of 2014

In a game very similar to one of the Red Sox' wins last year, the Red Sox overcame a 5-0 deficit, fought their way back, and eventually earned a 6-5 walk off win over the Orioles Sunday night at Fenway Park.

With the game tied at five in the ninth inning Dustin Pedroia led the inning off with a ball off the wall that was ruled a double on the field, but may have cleared the red line for a home run. After a review it was determined the play was inconclusive and the play on the field stood. Following an intentional walk, a pitching change and a hit batter, the stage was set for Mike Carp, who pinch-hit for Jonny Gomes.

Carp's line drive was caught in shallow left field by David Lough with Pedroia fake-tagging on the play drawing a throw to the plate, which catcher Matt Wieters couldn't handle and Pedroia was able to run home on the error giving the Red Sox their first walk off win of 2014.

Starter Jake Peavy didn't have his best stuff as he allowed five runs on ten hits 5 2/3 innings of work. O's starter Ubaldo Jimenez was impressive allowing three runs on four hits in 5 1/3 innings, but the Red Sox' ability to work the count got to him, playing a factor in the Gomes homer and eventual removal from the game throwing 107 pitches.
