NBA releases schedule of things that won’t happen

Call it wishful — or delusional — thinking.

The NBA today released its schedule for the 2011-12 season. (You know, the one that’s about 80 percent unlikely to happen, due to the league’s contentious lockout.)

Even the league’s PR arm, NBA.com, couldn’t ignore the elephant in the room.

NEW YORK — The NBA today released its
complete game schedule and broadcast schedules of ABC, TNT, ESPN, NBA
TV, and NBA on ESPN Radio for the 2011-12 season, in the event that the
NBA is able to reach a new collective bargaining agreement with the NBPA
in a timely fashion
.

Hint: It doesn’t look like they will.

The season will won’t tip off on Nov. 1, with the Mavericks hosting the Bulls. The Celtics will won’t start a day later, at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The C’s two games against the Lakers will won’t both both be nationally televised, as will won’t both matchups between the Mavericks and Heat.

The All-Star Game will won’t be played Feb. 26 in Orlando.
