NESN finds itself in a peculiar predicament these days, unsure of when (if it all) is an appropriate time to bring back Jerry Remy as its lead analyst for Red Sox games.

Remy has been absent from Sox broadcasts since Aug. 16, the day it was learned that Remy’s son, Jared, had been charged with the murder of Jennifer Martel.

The Boston Globe originally reported that Remy would be out through Aug. 25 but over the weekend NESN said that Remy would remain out through this week’s series at Fenway Park against Baltimore. NESN spokesman Gary Roy told the Globe that he had no information on whether or not Remy would return to the broadcast booth this season.
