Jamal Adams certainly isn’t lacking in confidence, the New York Jets first round pick promising that he will soon be an elite player in the NFL.
Not named to the Pro Bowl list released by the NFL on Tuesday night, Adams instead was a third alternate, essentially a consolation prize as he likely won’t be participating in the game. In his first year in the NFL, Adams certainly lived up to the hype that made him the sixth overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft.
So far Adams has 66 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Those are exciting numbers for a projected cornerstone, foundational piece to the franchise.
But Adams isn’t content with his showing to date, which led him on Tuesday to tweet out a promise about his NFL future:
I wont miss another Pro bowl. Believe that.

Adams certainly has the looks and make-up of being a perennial Pro Bowl selection. In particular he’s been very solid in the run game, as has been noted by Pro Football Focus analyst John Gatta:
Jamal Adams made plays all over the field this week, including 3 run stops and this FF. The rookie leads all safeties in run stops (20) this season pic.twitter.com/mou76e33GM
