Army linebacker Andrew King to work out for Giants

Upgrading depth at linebacker appears to be a priority for the New York Giants and at least one local linebacker is drawing interest from a team that many have pegged to be Super Bowl contenders.

Per a source, Andrew King, formerly of the Army Black Knights, will work out for the Giants next week at the team’s facility.  King had 97 total tackles last year including a staggering 11 tackles for a loss. He had a career-high 15 tackles against Duke and a few weeks later put up 10 tackles against Notre Dame.

The middle linebacker has a tremendous nose for the ball and good instincts.

He had a 4.78 time in the 40 at his Pro Day in early March. He measured at 5-foot-11 at the Pro Day and weighed in at 228 pounds.

King was a three-year starter for Army and started every game for the last two years for the program. He is draft-eligible.
