The Dolphins traded talented wide receiver Brandon Marshall to Chicago, reuniting the receiver with quarterback Jay Cutler.
Miami reportedly received two third-round picks from Chicago.
Many immediately said the move would put Miami out of the Peyton Manning sweepstakes although it could, in fact, be a precursor to the Dolphins going hard after both Manning and free agent wide receiver Reggie Wayne.
Tennessee is also still courting the former league MVP as they are attempting to sign Manning’s friend, Pro Bowl guard Steve Hutchinson.
In other free agent moves, the Redskins are attempting to upgrade their receiving corps in a major way as they are reportedly close to signing Pierre Garcon, Josh Morgan and Eddie Royal.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, meanwhile, are reportedly very close to signing former San Diego receiver Vincent Jackson.
Defensive end Mario Williams, the non-Manning star of this free agent class, plans on visiting the Buffalo Bills.
Defensive tackle Red Bryant, who was rumored to New England early and often on Tuesday, re-signed with Seattle for five years, $35 million, according to ESPN.
