NFL: Patriots lead at halftime

The mood is patriotic; the Pats are very, very good.

The New England Patriots carried a 14-7 lead into halftime of tonight's primetime season opener at Miami.

The Pats fell behind, 7-0, on Chad Henne's 9-yard scramble 7:42 into the first quarter. But BenJarvus Green-Ellis tied it with a 4-yard run three minutes later.

Tom Brady hit Rob Gronkowski for the go-ahead score in the second quarter.

The half was not without its foibles. Nate Solder started strong at right tackle, but faded near the break. And center Dan Koppen was carted off the field in the second quarter with an apparent ankle injury.
