The Tampa Bay Lightning continue their road trip and visit the New York Islanders on Friday at 7 p.m. ET at the Nassau Coliseum. Tonight is the final meeting of the regular season between these two teams. The season series is tied 1-1.
The Islanders are second in the Eastern Conference at 29-15-5 with 63 points. Even after the All-Star break, the East remains in a very tight playoff race. There is just a four-point differential that separates seeds Nos. 2-through-8.
Tonight's contest will be New York's first game back since the All-Star break. Islanders fans had something to cheer about this weekend thanks to center Mathew Barzal. The second-year player participated in his first ever All-Star tournament and recorded two goals and four assists in two games to help lead the Metropolitan Division to an All-Star championship.

Tampa Bay is 37-11-2 overall with 76 points this season. They are first in the East and have a 13-point cushion over the Islanders for the top spot.
Center Brayden Point has 30 goals on the season which leads his team and ties him for third in the league. He is two goals shy of matching his career high. Forward Nikita Kucherov is on pace to have an MVP-type season; he has 78 points in 49 games this year along with 22 goals and 57 assists.
