NHL Playoffs: Bruins-Flyers far from finished

No game or series lead will be safe for the Bruins this week until all signs of life from the Flyers have been completely extinguished. That’s the penalty you pay for letting a team climb out of an 0-3 series hole as they did last year — and they all know it.

But that won’t keep them from savoring Saturday’s 7-3 Game 1 destruction of the reigning Eastern Conference champs behind two goals apiece from David Krejci and Brad Marchand.

“Yeah, it’s a great start, but it is only one game,” said Patrice Bergeron, who joined them on the scoresheet, along with Nathan Horton and Gregory Campbell. “We saw last year that they are not going to quit.

“But we’re pretty happy with our effort.”

Yet far from satisfied, knowing there’s still much work to be done.

Undoubtedly, the Flyers who played listlessly in their own end and got a subpar performance in goal from Brian Boucher, will come out revved up tonight hoping to avoid going to Boston down 0-2.
