NHL Playoffs: Two chances for Bruins to exorcise ’10-11

After three straight wins — two in Montreal, one at the Garden — Boston has back-to-back chances to eliminate the Habs.

Last weekend, the Bruins’ future looked bleak.

Boston had just lost its sixth consecutive playoff game, falling behind the Canadiens 2-0 in their best-of-seven first-round series.

They’d been swept in the first home go-round. Only a miracle — or some much-needed grit — could save them.

Well, the Bruins came up with at least one of those.

After three straight wins — two in Montreal, one at the Garden — Boston has back-to-back chances to eliminate the Habs.

They’re on the road tonight (7 p.m., NESN, 98.5 FM). If the Canadiens win, Game 7 is tomorrow night on Causeway Street.

One win, and last year’s epic collapse is forgotten.

But it won’t be easy. As broken as they look, the Habs surely won’t just roll over.

“We learned from that last year,” Johnny Boychuk told reporters this week. “You can’t count a team out when you’re up or down in a series. We’ve learned from that. Hopefully, we can finish it off next game.”
