In a very real way, these NBA Finals have been about the supporting casts.
Sure, the Bryants and Ray Allens of the world have done their thing in Games 1 and 2. But the series has turned on relatively lesser-touted members of the Celtics and Lakers — Rajon Rondo, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum, in particular.
Gasol proved himself in a big way in Game 1, netting a 23-point, 14-rebound double-double while playing a tough game in the paint.
Gasol led L.A. with 25 points in Game 2, while Bynum tallied 21.
But?Rondo’s triple-double was a big part of the C’s key victory.
