Nobody was really doubting it, but now it’s official.

Bill Belichick has declared the Patriots’ 45-3 destruction of the Jets the team’s “most complete game of the year.”

But true to form, he wasn’t ready to call it a perfect performance.

“I think the final score reflected that it was our most complete game of the year, closest to playing 60 minutes, so that was good,” Belichick said in a conference call yesterday. “[We] took good care of the ball, won the turnover differential, weren’t penalized, didn’t have an inordinate amount of bad plays — [though] we had a few that definitely could have been better.”

Player personnel director Nick Caserio, meanwhile, praised the “overall execution” on the
offensive end.

“The execution was good by the players,” he said. “We minimized the number of negative plays that occurred, [and] took advantage of some plays.”
