While most Patriots TV coverage will be focused on Thursday’s Patriots-Giants preseason finale at Gillette Stadium (7:30 p.m., WBZ), the made-for-TV drama that won’t be shown on TV will take place Saturday afternoon when the Pats must cut their roster down from 75 to 53.

Bill Belichick has stunned many with his cuts in the days leading up to regular season openers. There was, of course, the Lawyer Milloy release 10 years ago as well as the cutting of Brandon Meriweather and James Sanders in 2011 – a year in which the team was short on capable players in the secondary.

It won’t be stunning to see the Pats cut third-string quarterback Tim Tebow after the Giants game, regardless of how he performs Thursday night. It will be stunning to see the Pats cut safety Adrian Wilson, given his record as a pro and leadership qualities. Wilson has had, by most accounts, a lousy preseason with the Patriots.

Other players on the bubble are running backs Leon Washington, Brandon Bolden and LeGarrette Blount; fullback James Develin, cornerback Ras-I Dowling, tight end Daniel Fells.
