The Phillies have long been lauded for their commitment to helping the underprivileged in the Philadelphia community — and they are at it again.
The Phillies and Major League Baseball announced Wednesday that they will host two private screenings of the movie, “42,” for teenagers enrolled in the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program, along with the Police Athletic League (PAL) and local Philadelphia public and charter schools. Each student participant will receive a special bag filled with Jackie Robinson memorabilia.
The event is slated for Saturday (May 4) and next Thursday (May 9) at United Artists Riverview theater on Columbus Blvd. All 30 MLB clubs are hosting private screenings for local teens.
