Playing the Field: Are steroids actually good for you? And is this Florida streaker the best ever?

Two of the last people in the world you would ever want to take life advice from are Jose Canseco and the Ultimate Warrior.

But both are being given points here at PTF for being two of the only notable names in the world that are open and direct about their own steroid use.

Canseco, the former MLB star, and Warrior, the former professional wrestler, maintain that using steroids in moderation is fine, can increase quality of life and can actually increase life span. The health issues, they say, only arise when you mix steroid use with other drugs.

On HBO’s Real Sports several years back, there was a very interesting report by Armen Keteyian in which it was brought to light that steroids had never been definitively linked to one death. They even profiled a guy who had been using steroids (in moderation) for over 40 years and was ripped to shreds at 70 years of age.

Think more than a few of today’s professional athletes subscribe to the “steroids are good for ya” thought?

The point here is that the longterm effects of steroids on the body needs to be re-examined and the masses need to be re-educated about the positives and negatives. Unfortunately, the only two people who seem to be vocal about this are already thought to be world-class bozos. The search for the truth continues.

This time the streaker wins

The time-honored tradition of streaking at sporting events has always been good for a few laughs. There is one issue though. Shockingly enough, most of these streakers over the years have been complete idiots.

There is typically no pre-planned escape route for these guys. They are either tackled by police officers or wrestled to the ground by actual players.

In fact, I’ve never seen a streaker escape … until now. Yes, this streaker at a Florida high school football game has the benefit of streaking at a wide open stadium (much more difficult to do in the professional ranks), but he is without question the smartest and most charismatic streaker in the history of the activity.
