If you’re into college basketball, you understand that each week of the season represents some sort of hoop advent calendar. Each Saturday, we are told that the upcoming week is “Judgment Week” or “Rivalry Week” or “BracketBuster Saturday” or “Feast Week.” Yes it’s an ESPN creation all the way, based solely on the fact that they believe they’ll get more eyeballs to the sets by basically giving titles to certain parts of the season. But here’s the thing: it works … sports fans LOVE titles.

While the NFL doesn’t need any help attracting viewers, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to adopt this marketing ploy. For instance, we could have called Week 12 of the NFL schedule “Reality Week” or more appropriately, “East Coast Reality Week.”

Fans of the Giants and Patriots got treated to blowout wins during Reality Week and there is already talk of yet another Super Bowl rematch – much to the chagrin of everyone else in these United States. Those two franchises are the standard-bearers of the NFC and AFC, respectively.

But the best part of reality week was watching the two East Coast fan bases who have suffered the most (Jets and Eagles fans), suffer a bit more. In a strange way, it’s comforting to know that some things always hold true. That being – it doesn’t get uglier in pro sports than when the final nail is driven into the Jets’ and Eagles’ respective coffins. See videos below:

The Boston Garden lives!!!

Here is something you don’t see everyday – 200 children at the Grace Care Orphanage in Kenya re-enacting Larry Bird’s iconic steal against the Pistons in the 1987 Eastern Conference Finals.

These kids are undoubtedly talented and there’s an A+ here for accuracy and detail. I mean, that place actually looks like the old Boston Garden. No word on if they shipped in stale beer smell and American rats to roam the premises.
