Playing the Field: USA basketball bloopers … sorta

The NBA nicely released a clip package of behind-the-scenes basketball action from the Olympics this weekend. And guess what? Rich people are just like you. Except rich.

To be fair, the video isn’t exactly the best you’ve ever seen, but you do get a chance to see LeBron making a fool of himself. (Ya know, not in the final five minutes of a game. Can I still make that joke?) There’s also plenty of shots of Anthony Davis, Andre Iguodala and Kevin Love.

Surprisingly, there’s no Kobe Bryant in the video. Interesting.

And a sick dunk

Speaking of LeBron, the reigning NBA champion and Olympic gold medalist is part of a group of NBA players spreading the goodwill to China the last few weeks.

But it was Indiana’s Paul George, one of the more underrated players in the league, who stole the stage with a 360, between-the-legs dunk that has to be seen. And yes, even LeBron really got into the excitement.

The best part is that his warm-up dunk was a 360 windmill. He immediately calms the crowd down to unleash the between-the-legs version. LeBron is the one in the red hat and white T-shirt if you couldn’t tell.

George was actually in the Slam Dunk contest this year and was fairly unexciting. (Here’s super super slo-mo versions of his three dunks if you care.) He tried jumping over Roy Hibbert, but he had to push off his shoulder and still clipped him in the back of the head. In fact, the warm-up dunk he did in China was his second dunk in the contest.

Break out the big stuff in the contest Paul, come on!
