Needham's Aly Raisman couldn't make it two gold medals in three days Thursday, but did manage to earn a split of third place with Russia's Alyia Mustafina. Due to a tie-breaker, however, Mustafina would go on to earn the bronze medal.
Raisman was as dominant as ever with a 15.133 in her floor routine, her best event, but a so-so outing on the balance beam earlier in the day cost her a shot at gold.
Raisman's teammate Gabby Douglas, however, did accomplish the amazing feat for the U.S..
