The Red Sox and DH David Ortiz have agreed on a two-year, $26 million deal to keep the slugger on Yawkey Way, according to multiple reports Friday.
The 36-year-old Ortiz was one of the Red Sox’ better performers in 2012, batting .318 with 23 home runs in just 90 games.
In other Red Sox free agency news, outfielder Cody Ross will be free to sign with any team as of Saturday, according to WEEI.com.
