The Red Sox are eyeing White Sox starter Jake Peavy ahead of the MLB trade deadline, which is July 31, according to multiple reports.
Peavy is 7-4 on the season, has a 4.19 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. Chicago, owning a 38-56 record, is underachieving in the AL Central and is expected to be sellers in the days leading up to the deadline.
Peavy was the ace of the San Diego Padres before a deadline trade sent him to Chicago in 2009. With San Diego Peavy recorded six double-digit win seasons, including a 19-win campaign in 2007. The righty went 11-12 with the White Sox last season with a 3.37 ERA.
