Red Sox stay hot, beat Tigers 6-4

The Red Sox stayed hot Wednesday night, topping the Tigers, 6-4.

David Ortiz’ two-run homer in the fourth inning sparked a Red Sox comeback from an 0-3 hole.

Will Middlebrooks followed up Ortiz’ two-run blast with one of his own as Boston went ahead, 4-3.

Adrian Gonzalez provided a tie-breaking run in the seventh with a ground rule, RBI double while Kevin Youkilis would go yard in the eighth inning for insurance.

Jon Lester worked 6.2 innings for the Red Sox, allowing four earned runs. Matt Albers picked up the win for Boston.
