Patrice Bergeron’s status for Monday night’s Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final remains uncertain after he suffered a reported spleen injury in the Bruins’ Game 5 loss Saturday night in Chicago. Sportsnet Canada’s Nick Kypreos was the first to report that Bergeron, who left the United Center in an ambulance Saturday night, injured his spleen.

Bergeron was discharged from a Chicago hospital and flew back to Boston with the Bruins Sunday morning.

“It’s just an injury that wasn’t able to let him finish the game,” B’s head coach Claude Julien said about Bergeron’s injury. “He may be in next game. I’m not going there.”

Carl Soderberg was inserted on the team’s second line with Bergeron shelved. Kaspars Daugavins could very well be in the B’s lineup Monday night as well.
