Revs off to a solid start under coach Jay Heaps

Most 25-year-olds have little to be bitter about – notably 25-year-olds who happen to play a professional sport for a living.

But Lee Nguyen has a bit of a chip on his shoulder, having been cut by the Vancouver Whitecaps prior to the start of the 2012 MLS season.

Nguyen got revenge on his former squad over the weekend as he ripped off a pair of goals and had an assist in the Revolution’s 4-1 victory over Vancouver at Gillette Stadium.

Nguyen’s feed to Saer Sene in the 24th minute, gave New England the separation it needed as the club improved to 4-6-0 on the season.

The Revs now sit right in the middle of the Eastern Conference standings and, of note, are 3-1 on the year at Gillette Stadium.

New England hosts Houston this Saturday in Foxboro (7:30, CSNNE).
