Sarah Michelle Gellar confirmed she will be returning to ABC soap opera “All My Children” at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Thursday.
Talking to journalists to promote her new series on The CW, “Ringer,” Gellar said she will take one day off production of the drama to film the soap. “I just wanted to be a part of it,” she said of the departing daytime series.
Though she appeared on “All My Children” as Kendall Hart from 1993-95, the actress — most famously known for her role as “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” — said she is not sure what character she will portray in her return.
“I don’t want to be Kendall, that’s Alicia’s role,” Gellar said, referring to the part currently played by Alicia Minshew. “I have no idea what I’m going to be doing.”
The series finale of “All My Children” airs Sept. 23 on ABC.
