Broncos fans will never want to hear the phrase “12 seconds” again.

The Seahawks scored 12 seconds into Super Bowl XLVIII when Denver center Manny Ramirez snapped the ball out of the back of the end zone and 12 seconds into the second half when Percy Harvin returned a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown.

Both were part of a 43-8 romp to the first Lombardi Trophy in Seahawks franchise history.

Harvin, who was out most of the season following hip surgery, had 45 yards rushing as well.

Not a single Seahawks player had played in a Super Bowl, but they certainly weren’t overwhelmed by the moment. Second-year quarterback Russell Wilson threw for 206 yards on 18-of-25 completions.

The inevitable questions of Peyton Manning’s legacy won’t stop anytime soon after he threw two interceptions — one returned for a touchdown by linebacker Malcolm Smith to make it 22-0 heading into halftime.

Any hope for a comeback was eliminated coming out of the half when Harvin made it 29-0 and Jermaine Kearse caught a 23-yard touchdown with 3:11 left in the third to make it 36-0.

Denver didn’t get on the scoreboard until there were three seconds left in the third quarter.
