It doesn’t look like Shaquille O’Neal will miss the rest of the regular season due to his new injury.
The Celtics center — who returned from a two-month absence Sunday only to leave after less than six minutes of playing time — has a minor right calf strain and could return in
Friday’s game against Washington.
“He may play at the end of the week, but we’re not sure yet,” coach Doc Rivers told reporters yesterday. “We’re going to do whatever is required.”
O’Neal did not practice yesterday.
The Celtics have six games left in the regular season, starting with tonight’s 7:30 p.m. home date against Philadelphia (CSN, WEEI). They’re at Chicago on Thursday and return home for Friday’s game against the Wizards.
The finale is next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Celtics legend Tom “Satch”?Sanders has been elected to the Hall of Fame as a “contributor.”?He won eight rings in 13 seasons as a Celtic.
