Tonight’s All-Star Game in Arizona will have a decided Boston flair to it.
Six Red Sox — four position players and two pitchers — are on the American League roster, and five are likely to see time in the game.
First baseman Adrian Gonzalez and DH David Ortiz — playing together in an NL ballpark! — are in the starting lineup. Outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury and third baseman Kevin Youkilis will come off the bench, and Josh Beckett is expected to pitch two innings.
Jon Lester was named an All-Star after Seattle’s Felix Hernandez started Sunday, making him ineligible to pitch for the AL. Lester won’t throw, either — he’s on the DL.
