Sixers acquire Andrew Bynum, trade Andre Iguodala and Moe Harkless

UPDATE: The Sixers have traded Andre Iguodala to Denver as a part of a four-team deal that will send Dwight Howard to the Lakers. The team will get center Andrew Bynum from the Lakers, as well as Jason Richardson from the Magic.

The Sixers will also send Nik Vujecic and a protected future first-round draft pick to Orlando. They will also give up their top pick in June’s draft, Moe Harkless, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. The four-team swap has been sent to the NBA’s league office for review, but it is expected to be completed Friday morning

Andre Iguodala is set to capture a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. If all goes according to plan, the Sixers swingman will be on the podium Sunday.

Back at home, however, the team’s brass is exploring a four-team deal that would send Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets. According to a report on Yahoo! Sports, the Sixers have been dragged into the Dwight Howard trade negotiations. The trade is not imminent, according to Yahoo!, but talks have grown
“serious.”

In the proposed deal, Howard would be sent to the L.A. Lakers, along with Nuggets forward Al Harrington; Iguodala would be sent to Denver; Lakers center Andrew Bynum would go to the Sixers; and Lakers forward Pau Gasol, coupled with Nuggets guard Aron Afflalo would be sent packing to Orlando.

ESPN’s Lakers beat guy Dave McMenamin refutes the Yahoo! report, calling it a “rehashed rumor.” Check back here for updates as we continue to monitor the situation.
