Sixers return to hardwood after short break

Philadelphia 76ers v Brooklyn Nets The Sixers must defeat the Bobcats Wednesday night at home to avoid a five-game losing streak.

The Sixers dropped four consecutive games in six days three of them at home, dropping to a 12-25 mark for the season.

But the Sixers have been streaky all season long, and a home date with the 15-23 Bobcats could be just what the doctor ordered for the struggling 76ers with about a month to go until the All-Star break.

Before the recent slide, the Sixers shocked the league with a four game win streak, all on the road. The team defeated the Lakers, Nuggets, Kings and Blazers in the treacherous Western Conference.

The game against the Bobcats comes after three days of needed rest and will hopefully be a slump-buster. If it isn’t, the Sixers could chase down their season-high seven game slide from early and mid December.

The Bobcats are very strong defensively but are relatively week on offense. Charlotte averages just 93 points per game in contrast to the Sixers’ 102.5. This could work in Philadelphia’s favor, as the Sixers are one of the worst defensive squads in the NBA.

Big man LaVoy Allen is questionable for the game and could be a costly absence if he is not able to play on an injured calf.
