Slumping Red Sox drop to three games below .500

Josh Beckett gave up four runs in the first two innings Monday night in Miami and it was all downhill from there for Boston as the Red Sox lost, 4-1, at Marlins Park.

The Red Sox bats fell silent for the majority of the night, save for Scott Podsednik who had three hits and scored on an Adrian Gonzalez sac fly in the sixth.

Josh Johnson worked seven innings for Miami, allowing just four hits and striking out seven. Donovan Solano had a pair of RBIs for the Marlins.
