Sox smack Orioles, 7-0

There were a pair of blowouts in the city of Boston Thursday night, but they came with mixed results for the Hub faithful. While the Celtics could not contain LeBron James and the Heat at TD Garden, across town the Red Sox took care of business with a 7-0 spanking of Baltimore.

Clay Buchholz had his finest outing of the season in a dominating effort as he worked the complete nine innings, allowing just four hits while striking out six and walking just one batter.

Adrian Gonzalez got Boston’s offense going in the first inning as his double to right plated Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead.

Daniel Nava also had a pair of RBIs for Boston.
