Still no answer at QB for BC

With true freshman Chase Rettig still recovering from an ankle injury, Dave Shinskie and Mike Marscovetra are back in the hunt for the starting quarterback job at Boston College.

With true freshman Chase Rettig still recovering from an ankle injury, Dave Shinskie and Mike Marscovetra are back in the hunt for the starting quarterback job at Boston College.

Shinskie beat out Marscovetra for the job before the season, but was benched during a 19-0 loss to Virginia Tech on Sept. 25. Rettig was replaced by Marscovetra after getting knocked out of last week’s 31-13 loss to Notre Dame.

But while Marscovetra and Shinskie split reps on Tuesday, Rettig returned to practice yesterday with a protective boot on his left ankle.

“I’ll probably get limited reps,” Rettig said before practice. “I just have to get the feel back and see how I can do out there. I hope I can play. Sunday from today was a huge jump. I feel I made a lot of progress. I feel like it’s possible I could play on Saturday.”
