Nike, Adidas and Puma hope to get off on the right foot with some slick and innovative soccer cleats for the stars of the World Cup. Here is a look at the top cleats that will break ground in Brazil.
Nike Mercurial Superfly
Is it a shoe or is it a sock? Whatever the boot is, it looks cool. Introducing the Nike Mercurial Superfly, which resembles a pair of soccer cleats with socks attached to them. The shoe's Nike Flyknit technology allows for large flexibility and protection in targeted areas. The American brand says the distinctive ankle support allows for extra ventilation and provides a lighter feel. Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo will be wearing the high-tech kicks in Brazil.

Magista also goes for the sock sensation with this garishly bright yellow boot. Providing both elasticity and support, the Magista has the "feel" of approval, according to Nike: "Players told us they have never felt anything like this."
Spain’s Andrés Iniesta and Sergio Busquets, Brazil’s Thiago Silva and Germany’s Mario Götze will play in these shoes.
Again, vividly bright with orange and yellow hues, the Tiempo will find home on the feet of Spain’s Sergio Ramos and Gerard Piqué, and Italy’s Andrea Pirlo. The real talking point arguably comes from the leather, made from real kangaroo skin.
Nike Hypervenom Phantom
This aggressive, viper-like boot will be used by Brazil’s Neymar, England’s Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck. Fit for a striker, the Hypervenom combines four key elements: the fit, touch, traction, and design.
Adidas Battle Pack
The German brand is going black-and-white with their Battle Pack collection of four different cleats: the Adizero F50, Predator, Nitrocharge, Adipure 11pro, and Adizero F50 Messi. Other than the said Argentine star, wearers of the Battle Pack include Uruguay’s Luis Suárez and Edinson Cabani, and Brazil’s Oscar and Dani Álves.
Puma’s EvoPower and EvoSpeed
Puma looks a colorful kick and the EvoPower and EvoSpeed are no exception. Players like Spain’s Cesc Fabregas and Italy’s Mario Balotelli will certainly stand out on the pitch as the boots consist of one pink shoe and one blue shoe. The shoes are "optimized for perfect pitch visibility", says Puma.
