A common pipe dream in the wake of the Bruins' Stanley Cup championship involved the team making a run at Steven Stamkos.
The center, a restricted free agent, had 45 goals in 2010-11. The B's had the need. It was a match made in (pie-in-the-sky) heaven.
Unfortunately for Boston, it's not going to happen. Stamkos has agreed to terms with Tampa Bay on a new five-year deal.
